All great cities have colleges or campuses that teach horticulture! Melbourne is no exception. I teach and research at the Burnley Campus of the University of Melbourne where 2016 marks 125 years of horticultural education, engagement and research at the laboratories, nursery, historic gardens and field station of the campus' eight hectares. There is much to celebrate for this anniversary in the design, management and maintenance of gardens, vegetation and landscapes by generations of Burnley graduates. Click on the link below for more information and register to get updates for the 2016 events. I will write more about Burnley's history throughout 2016

ReplyDeleteWow 125 years, that's impressive! Burnley should be proud! There's nothing quite like studying at a prestigious institution with so many years of excellence under its' belt. Perhaps they could have a celebration of the longest serving teaching staff? After all it's the teachers who make an institution thrive.
ReplyDeleteWell I was not aware about horticulture before reading your blog. Your blog post is so interesting and useful too. Its 125 years,, I am amazed to hear that. Well, next week I am going to attend a meeting at event venue Chicago where a famous professor will deliver a lecture on horticulture. I am very excited for that!!
ReplyDeleteI've bookmarked this post for future reference. The tips you provided are practical and easy to implement.
