Taro loving this wettest January for 10 years in Melbourne. This is at the tropical garden we created outside the café at the Northcote Pool. It also helps that a massive pit was dug in the middle of the garden to deal with a bad leak which has become a huge water soak for Lemon Grass, Cannas, Taro and Day Lilies, all experts at dealing with water logged soils #taro #colocasiaesculenta #purpletaro #elephantears #bigleaf #northcotepool #tropicalgarden #wetjanuary #melbourneweather #whatisgoingon #indianoceandipole

“All that is solid melts into air”. Today was cold and drizzly and the air smoky after heatwaves and horrific fires. The sky is grey and grieving for what we’ve done to ourselves wilfully. I seriously hope this changes everything as Naomi Klein put it. Meanwhile, thank god for this Magpie just doing its thing #notagoodday #toomuch #reallynotgood #grief #climateemergency #moreofthistocome #unfortunately #neoliberalismsucks #australianmagpie #intelligentbirds
